Theft by Government

Why should we let the government orchestrate who gets to steal our hard-earned money? Day after day, month after month the government finds new ways to take more of our money.

How we feed the monster (market) in the last 50 years has been changed by government legislation. The system no longer rewards hard work. From intellectual property rights to basic contract laws, everything has been altered by decree for the corporate interests, creating a system in which money is siphoned from the bottom up.

The past 25 years have had a huge negative effect on the American income. This effect requires an examination of changes in the organization of the market. These changes stem from a dramatic increase in the political power of large corporations, big banks, Wall Street and the colleges that have the power and money to change the rules of the market in ways that have enhanced their profitability while reducing the share of economic gains going to the majority of Americans. These changes happen through the hired lobbyist who bribe and cajole our Politian’s. These same Politian’s capitalize on the changes. They all prosper as they suck the life out of the American population.

Then to keep us all off the scent of what is really happening they turn us against each other with a congressional circus act hoping to keep the focus off the market. After all, it is the hottest market in history! Not because of the GDP. You know good old fashion hard work.

This redistribution upward was not just through the government taxing the middle class and poor to transfer a portion of their incomes to the rich. We would catch on to that too quickly. The government undertook the upward redistribution by altering the rules of the game.

The government has an appetite that cannot be quenched. At the same time the monster market grows bigger it grows hungrier. The billionaires that everybody complains about are the fat on the monster. The big banks, Wall Street and large corporations are the stomach of the monster. When they get finished eating up the pension funds, 401ks and personal investment portfolios there will be nothing left but waste. Right now the waste they are spewing out is being re-eaten, redistributed through the system until the monster is so sick, all though very large, can live no more.

Pension funds have been its main course. Pensions are already at risk because of underfunding, mismanagement, bankruptcy, and legal exemptions. New legislation has been passed to cut benefits or wipe them out completely after someone has spent their careers contributing. There is no protection left.

When will we say we have had enough of the taking and demand that the system be overhauled?

I think that a decision will be made for us when the monster dies.
