Freedom Given or Freedom Lost
In their wisdom, America’s Founding Fathers established one indivisible nation with liberty and justice for all. On July 4, 1776, they penned The Declaration of Independence, officially declaring America free from British rule. This act of defiance and courage is a cornerstone of our history, one we’ve commemorated ever since.
The men and women who selflessly sacrificed from the very beginning have bestowed upon us the precious gift of freedom, allowing us not only to exist but to flourish.
We have been blessed with the gift of freedom in this great country. This gift, so often taken for granted, was won through the sweat and blood of our forefathers. They fought against tyranny and oppression, enduring unimaginable hardships to secure our independence. Their sacrifices, courage, and unwavering belief in the value of freedom should never be forgotten.
Our United States flag flutters in the breeze, a symbol of freedom and sacrifice. But as we go through our daily lives, those ideals are being forgotten.
Our freedom is not a given but a precious and fragile gift that we should never take for granted. We must always remember the sacrifices made by those who came before us and honor their memory by cherishing and protecting the liberty that they fought so hard to secure. We are the guardians of this freedom, and we must ensure its preservation.

Complacency, entitlement, guilt for noncontribution, and a lack of a moral compass instilled through spiritual and family values have overtaken a segment of our youth. Websites replace community. The noise of the internet mob replaces congregations. Progressive Liberal Activist professors and teachers step into the role of influencers. If we do not act now or instill in our youth the importance of our freedom, we risk losing it.
Our young adults need to be taught to think for themselves. They are being told what to think. They are sent off to college like rudderless ships set out to sea, where pirates come to lay siege upon them.
Where is the allegiance to the flag that represents our freedom? Where is the allegiance to God who sacrificed his only son?
What about our relatives who came here looking for a better life? They tell a story of perilous journeys to get to this land of opportunity. A journey that was fraught with danger, sacrifice, and loss. How did they survive it all? How did they endure?
Like God, who sacrificed His only Son, so have many of us sacrificed our fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters for a group of people that spits in our faces and burns the flag. How did we let it come to this? Why are we letting people who do not love this nation destroy it? These people have been given the freedom to protest but not to take our heritage and our way of life away from us.
Everyone has the freedom given to them by the patriots who came before them, but do not let ignorance, disdain, violence, or criminals ruin what we have sacrificed so dearly for — our freedom, our home.
A country without borders is having a home without a front door. There is no sovereignty or security.
There is more to life than just surviving day to day. There is still hope left for our country. Maybe the future can be different. We should always remember the sacrifices that have been made. We need to remember that the United States is ours. We need to remember that we have inherited freedom if only we choose to fight to keep it.
Today, we are reminded of the true reason we should keep fighting — not for glory or power, but for the simple right to live our lives without fear and oppression. Our shared legacy as descendants of those who have fought for our freedom comes with a responsibility to continue that fight. We need to remember that this United States of America is our home!
